Tom Robinson

Dear journal,

The past few weeks have been very tiring and worrying of me. I don't see why the jury hasn't just let me go yet. I haven't done anything wrong to Mayella when I met her. She tried to kiss me! I haven't done nothin' to that woman at all. Her father was watching us when we almost kissed and at that moment, I knew it was goin' to be wrong. Her father was also drunk a couple nights ago and that's probably the real reason why she's got them bruises on her sides.

Atticus has been doin' so good at defending me in court. I really hope that the jury beleives him and I so that they realize I am innoccent. Atticus is probably gettin picked on 'cuz of me and what they think I did. God help me and the jury so that one day, we may all realize what really happened that day.

Sincerely,
Tom Robinson
